If you work with Snowplow and Google Tag Manager, you know up until now you had to create a custom HTML tag. While this works, wouldn't it be cool, safer, and practical to have a Snowplow Analytics tag on Google Tag Manager? We do now!.
Last Thursday, May 23rd, 2019, Google announced a new Google Tag Manager feature, which allows developers to create their custom tag templates.
Snowplow Analytics Custom Template Tag
We created the first version of Snowplow Analytics custom template tag to enable everyone to get Snowplow up and running as fast as possible.
The first version supports much of the Snowplow JS tracker functionality, all configurable through an intuitive and familiar Google Tag Manager interface.
- Pageviews and activity tracking
- Configure PROD and DEV collectors
- Native contexts (performanceTiming, webPage, gaCookie and geolocation)
- Tracker configuration arguments
- Configure snowplow.js URL
- User identification
